Martha Nichols is an experienced journalist and editor. She is the Editor in Chief of Talking Writing, an online literary magazine, and a faculty instructor of journalism at the Harvard University Extension School. She has published work in many magazines, including the Harvard Business Review, the Women’s Review of Books, Salon, Utne Reader, and Brain, Child.
Martha often writes about adoption and culture, because her son is a Vietnamese adoptee. She’s traveled to Vietnam and even studied Vietnamese (although she speaks it very badly).
During the spring of 2012, Martha was based in Singapore with her family. They took side trips to Vietnam, Bali, and Thailand, although they didn’t do as much traveling off the island as they expected. Singapore itself became captivating. For her continuing adventures, see her blog, Athena’s Head.
